PHILADELPHIA – Stradley Ronon is pleased to announce that the Philadelphia Financial Scholars (PFS), a nonprofit organization that aims to provide Philadelphia high school students, teachers and families with tools to develop financial skills, hosted its Semi-Final Business Pitch Competition at the firm’s headquarters on April 19. Chairman Emeritus William R. Sasso, a founding board member of PFS, kicked off the event alongside Associate Terence A. Jones, who served as one of the three judges at the event.
Through the year-long Citywide Business Pitch Competition,1,251 students learn the basics of budgeting, borrowing, paying for college and investing for financial wellness. Students also learn the foundations of entrepreneurship and explore these concepts to create business plans and pitches. The competition showcases the students competing against one another to sell a product or a line of business or solve a business problem.
