Elaine Panagakos

Overview

Elaine Panagakos has been a litigator for more than three decades. Her practice focuses on insurance and reinsurance matters. 
 
She counsels clients in complex coverage and insurance-related contractual disputes. Elaine is knowledgeable in a wide variety of underlying subject areas, ranging from environmental liabilities and toxic torts to alleged misconduct by institutional policyholders to issues in the managed care industry. She has also represented clients in precedent-setting coverage and tort cases before state supreme courts and federal courts of appeal.
 
Before joining Stradley Ronon, Elaine was special counsel at an Am Law 100 firm in Washington, D.C., and worked for several international law firms.

  • Represented an insurer in a multiparty, multi-forum litigation over coverage for catastrophic bodily injuries sustained in an unusual accident.

  • Represented amici curiae in support of asbestos defendants who advocated for science-based standards of causation and evidentiary admissibility.
