Michael Roynan is the chair of Stradley Ronon’s public finance practice group. He focuses his practice on nonprofit, government and real estate-based finance. He has served as bond counsel or counsel to issuers, banks and borrowers in more than 60 tax-exempt debt financings with an aggregate value in excess of $4 billion. He has participated in many types of public finance transactions, with a particular emphasis in manufacturing, nonprofit and governmental financings.
A significant portion of Mike’s practice involves structuring and completing complicated project financings for the construction of major infrastructure improvements for nonprofit institutions. Mike has served as counsel to several major area financial institutions, hospitals, continuing care retirement communities and museums in construction-based tax-exempt bond transactions. These transactions often require the resolution of an array of real estate, credit and tax issues that allow Mike to call upon his deep training and experience in construction and project finance, where his knowledge of real estate, collateral and construction matters allow working groups to quickly and properly resolve any related issues.
