Kevin R. Casey,
Allison Gifford and Elizabeth O’Donoghue presented on the first day of the 2022 Intellectual Property Law Institute hosted by the Pennsylvania Bar Institute on March 31. Casey, Gifford and O’Donoghue presented “Year in Review – Trademarks,” which discussed the most significant cases, filings and trends in trademark law from the past year.
Casey is co-chair of the
intellectual property and chair of the
IP litigation groups at Stradley Ronon and an active member of the alternative dispute resolution group. He has counseled clients for over 30 years in all aspects of the IP field, focusing on patents, trademarks, trade secrets, copyrights, licensing and opinions. Casey has also been lead litigation counsel and has participated as assistant counsel in more than 60 cases.
Gifford focuses her practice on trademark and copyright law and related business issues. She has represented clients from start-ups to multinational corporations in a wide variety of industries. Gifford has significant experience managing, developing, maintaining and enforcing domestic and foreign trademark portfolios including conducting and analyzing trademark searches, filing and prosecuting trademark applications, coordinating international trademark protection programs, and initiating and defending proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB).
O’Donoghue concentrates her practice in all aspects of intellectual property matters and related business issues. Elizabeth has represented clients from individuals, start-ups, educational institutions, to large corporations in a variety of industries such as biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, chemical industries, financial, retail, apparel, and online businesses. She has a technical background in anatomy and neuroscience, particularly in the biotech and pharmaceutical space. She has been involved in patent prosecution concentrating on patent preparation and prosecution, international patent portfolio management, as well as reports on patentability, infringement and validity.
