PHILADELPHIA – Stradley Ronon Partner Mark E. Chopko served as a panelist for a webinar sponsored by the Arthur J. Gallagher & Sons Company on May 13. The webinar, “Sexual Abuse Molestation in Dioceses,” provided an overview of critical sexual abuse and molestation topics affecting Catholic dioceses including trends, recent developments and legislative initiatives. Arthur J. Gallagher is an international sales and marketing company that plans and administers cost-effective, differentiated property/casualty and human resource risk management programs as brokers, consultants, and third-party administrators.
Chopko chairs Stradley Ronon’s nonprofit and religious organizations practice group and advises clients, including colleges and universities, in matters involving structural, business, governance, regulatory and complex litigation. He specializes in defending religious organizations and also teaches a seminar on church-state law at Georgetown University Law Center and is an adjunct in the School of Foreign Service. A former general counsel for the U.S. Conference on Catholic Bishops, he has participated in more than 30 Supreme Court cases as counsel for religious groups in friend-of-the-Court briefs.
