Samuel J. Arena Jr. served as Co-Chair of the American Bar Association (ABA)’s Fidelity and Surety Law Committee (FSLC) Spring Surety Conference, which took place May 4-6 in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. Arena also served as a co-editor of the ABA’s recently published treatise, “
The Law of Commercial Surety and Miscellaneous Bonds, Third Edition,” which was the focus of the Conference and serves as a resource to commercial surety practitioners, underwriters, and claims professionals.
Arena, who serves as Senior Counsel at Stradley Ronon, has concentrated his practice on insurance law, fidelity and surety law for more than 38 years. A leader in the firm’s insurance practice group, Arena represents insurance companies in complex insurance coverage and fidelity and surety matters. Arena has extensive experience representing insurance companies in bad-faith and extra-contractual liability claims and litigation. He is a Fellow of the American College of Coverage Counsel and an Adjunct Professor at Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law, where he has taught Insurance Law Principles and presently teaches Advanced Insurance Law: Coverage Disputes.
