WASHINGTON — Stradley Ronon counsel Walter Buzzetta and Adam Kaplan recently presented a virtual course hosted by Lorman Education Services on the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) titled “The FDCPA Bible: Knowing Your Rights and Avoiding Litigation.”
The course covered the latest laws and regulations pertaining to debt collection communications and addressed the best practices and procedures to avoid common risks and pitfalls that can lead to litigation exposure. Walter and Adam also discussed distinctions between Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) and FDCPA liability related to telephone calls.
Walter concentrates his practice on consumer lending and financial services litigation, with a primary focus on claims against financial services companies. He is also well-versed in counseling financial services companies on strategic planning, risk assessment, regulatory compliance and dispute resolution.
Adam focuses his practice on complex litigation including defense of financial services companies from consumer protection claims in state and federal courts. He also counsels clients on issues of regulatory compliance and advises on enforcement actions and investigations.
