PHILADELPHIA — Stradley Ronon partner Eric Hurwitz, co-chair of the firm’s financial services litigation practice, and counsel Walter Buzzetta presented an update on the latest developments in foreclosure law and loan workouts during an April 18 webinar hosted by continuing legal education (CLE) provider Rossdale.
The presentation, “The Latest in Foreclosures and Loan Modifications,” began with an overview of the foreclosure industry’s current climate. Eric and Walter then discussed developments concerning foreclosure challenges, Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) regulations, the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA) and related issues and workout options.
Eric is the partner-in-charge of Stradley Ronon’s Cherry Hill, New Jersey, office and focuses his litigation practice on defending financial institutions from claims arising out of nearly every type of consumer and commercial financial product. He has experience defending both single-plaintiff and class action lawsuits brought against a wide variety of financial services institutions.
Walter concentrates his practice on consumer lending and financial services litigation, with a primary focus on claims against financial services companies. He also counsels financial services companies on strategic planning, risk assessment, regulatory compliance and dispute resolution.
