PHILADELPHIA — Stradley Ronon associate Terence A. Jones served as a judge for the Philadelphia Financial Scholars’ (PFS) student business pitch competition on April 12 at the Carver Engineering and Science school in Philadelphia.
PFS is a nonprofit organization that aims to ensure equal access to financial literacy education for historically underserved high school students in the Philadelphia area. The business pitch competition — which teaches the foundations of budgeting, borrowing, financial wellness and entrepreneurship — involves students competing against one another to sell a product or a line of business or solve a business problem. Winners of each schoolwide competition will advance to the semi-finals.
Terence shared valuable feedback with Carver’s participating students during the schoolwide event to motivate the students and critique the small details of each pitch. Terence explained that he participates in the competition “to better prepare the students for the next round of the competition, but also to equip the students with skills they can take with them as they mature personally and professionally.”
A longtime supporter of PFS, Stradley Ronon hosted the nonprofit’s 2023 semi-final competition, which also featured Terence as a judge. Chairman Emeritus William Sasso is a PFS founding board member.
Terence concentrates his practice on complex civil litigation, representing corporate and institutional clients in a wide variety of business litigation matters. He is a member of the firm’s diversity committee, co-chair of the firm’s Black and African American Engagement Group, and member of the Leadership Council of the Meritas Black Lawyers Forum.
