PHILADELPHIA – Stradley Ronon is pleased to announce that Associate Lara N. Burke has joined the Kids in Need of Defense (KIND) Washington, DC Advisory Committee. KIND helps unaccompanied immigrant and refugee children who come to the U.S. without parents or legal guardians seeking protection. Burke, who has been a volunteer with KIND since 2014, contributes a significant amount of pro bono time representing unaccompanied children in the U.S. who are in need of legal assistance.
The DC Advisory Committee consists of attorneys from leading law firms, medical professionals, and child advocates who share a commitment that unaccompanied immigrant children should have a meaningful opportunity to access the protections under U.S. law. The purpose of the DC Advisory Committee is to advise, support, and serve as KIND’s ambassadors to the greater Washington DC community.
Burke is a seasoned litigator practicing in securities and enforcement, government investigations and white-collar defense. She represents individuals, broker-dealers, publicly traded companies and other entities in connection with all stages of enforcement before the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Department of Justice (DOJ), various Self-Regulatory Organizations (SROs), Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), as well as in federal and state courts.
