PHILADELPHIA – Stradley Ronon is pleased to announce that Partner Lisa R. Jacobs was recently appointed chair of the executive committee of the Uniform Law Commission (ULC) at its 2023 Annual Meeting, putting Stradley Ronon at the center of national public policy discourse.
Established in 1892, ULC provides states with non-partisan, well-conceived and well-drafted legislation that brings clarity and stability to critical areas of state statutory law. As ULC’s governing board, the executive committee has the responsibility of implementing the policies adopted by the Commission at its meetings and determining the agenda for the acts to be considered and drafted by the ULC.
Jacobs’s leadership position comes after she previously served as chair of ULC’s scope and program committee. She also serves on several drafting committees, including the Amendments to the Harmonized Business Organizations Acts (Chair), Limited Liability Company Protected Series Act, the Employee and Student Online Privacy Protection Act and the Canadian Money Judgements Registration Act. For more than 35 years, she has served as an advisor to both private and public companies in a wide variety of industries on matters related to mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, institutional and private equity financings, securitization and structured finance and corporate governance issues.
