PHILADELPHIA – Stradley Ronon is pleased to announce that Partner Danielle Banks recently moderated a CLE discussion on the U.S. Supreme Court’s recent decision on affirmative action, SFFA v. Harvard and SFFA v. UNC. The event was co-hosted by the Philadelphia Bar Association’s Office of Diversity and Barristers’ Association of Philadelphia. Banks also serves as diversity chair of the PBA.
The CLE program examined the holding in the recent affirmative action SCOTUS decision and addressed concerns regarding its application in employment hiring practices, future recruiting efforts and existing DEI programs and initiatives. Banks and the panelists explored why organizations and firms can – and should – recommit to DEI following the ruling and offer creative tools to maintain and continue fostering a diversity, equity and inclusion culture.
A known leader in the area of employment and labor, Banks devotes a significant amount of her practice to defending businesses, universities and governmental entities against employment discrimination claims, including claims brought under Title VII, Section 1981, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act and the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act. She also regularly counsels clients and is a frequent speaker on issues of race, employment, diversity and inclusion.
