Stradley Ronon Elevates Five to Firm Partnership

PHILADELPHIA – Stradley Ronon is pleased to announce that Brian Crowell, Jamie M. Gershkow, Dean V. Krishna, David F. Roeber and A. Nicole Stover have been elected to the firm’s partnership, effective Jan. 1, 2021.

Based in Stradley Ronon’s Philadelphia office, Crowell focuses his practice on counseling registered investment companies - including mutual funds, exchange-traded funds (ETFs) and closed-end funds - independent trustees and investment advisers on a wide range of matters, including the development and launch of new funds, ongoing regulatory and registration obligations, and issues arising under federal and state securities laws. In addition, Crowell advises clients on board governance issues and meeting preparation, drafting compliance policies and procedures, and fund reorganizations and mergers, including the conversion of mutual funds to ETFs. Crowell’s representations have included proprietary, multi-series, multi-class and multi-manager investment companies. While in law school, Crowell served as a judicial extern to the Hon. Jane R. Roth of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. Crowell earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law, Order of the Coif and his B.S. from Villanova University.

A resident of the firm’s New York office, Gershkow focuses her practice on advising investment companies and independent trustees. She frequently counsels on regulatory and compliance matters, the applicability and interpretation of securities laws, and the formation and management of registered investment companies, including ETFs, money market funds, and multi-manager funds. She is a frequent speaker and author on money market fund and ETF topics. Gershkow is the Co-Head of Events and Education of Women in ETFs - New York. She serves on the board of directors and executive committee of the Schuylkill River Development Corporation. She is also a member of the Women’s Investment Management Forum and Stradley Ronon’s Hiring Committee and Technology Committee. Gershkow has been recognized as a “Rising Star” by Fund Intelligence and New York Super Lawyers. Gershkow earned her J.D., magna cum laude, from Drexel University School of Law and her B.A., magna cum laude, from the University of Maryland.

Krishna, based in the firm’s Philadelphia office, concentrates his practice on international and domestic tax issues. He advises on matters including mergers and acquisitions, private fund agreements, investments and structuring; commercial securities offerings; business restructurings; and general domestic and cross-border tax planning. He received his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and his LL.M. in taxation from New York University School of Law, where he was editor of the Tax Law Review. He earned his M.A. in Education from San Jose University and his B.A. in Environmental Studies from Dartmouth College. Prior to law school, Krishna served as a Teach for America Corps Member and taught sixth grade in East Palo Alto, California.

Based in the firm’s Philadelphia and Cherry Hill offices, Roeber focuses his practice on counseling registered investment companies, their independent trustees/directors, and investment advisers on a variety of regulatory, compliance, transactional, and fund governance matters. He also helped form and launch the Volunteer UP Legal Clinic in Camden, New Jersey. Roeber is a recipient of the New Jersey State Bar Association’s Pro Bono Award and the Chancellor’s Award for Alumni Civic Engagement from Rutgers University – Camden. He earned his J.D., with high honors, from Rutgers University School of Law – Camden, and his B.A. and B.S. from Taylor University.

Stover, a resident of the firm’s Cherry Hill office, focuses her practice on employment law. She regularly represents employers and key executives in connection with mergers, acquisitions, and other reorganizations, including the development of transition strategy, negotiation of compensation and benefits, and human resources compliance. Stover also conducts internal investigations and litigates restrictive covenant agreements, wage and hour compliance, and discrimination and harassment matters in proceedings before federal and state courts and administrative agencies. Stover earned her J.D. from The Pennsylvania State University Dickinson School of Law, where she served as Editor-in-Chief of the Penn State Law Review, and her B.A., magna cum laude, from Washington and Lee University.
