PHILADELPHIA — Stradley Ronon partner Jan Folena, co-chair of the firm’s securities litigation and enforcement practice, participated in a discussion on securities fraud prevention and detection at the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA)’s Compliance & Legal (C&L) 2024 Annual Seminar in Orlando, Florida.
The March 19 panel, “The Newest Frauds Realities — Top 10 List and Best Practices to Detect and Prevent Fraud,” featured Jan and other securities professionals on topics related to current securities fraud trends, including prevention, training, education, and best practices for detecting fraud early and resources to respond.
Jan advises and represents clients on a wide range of matters involving the federal securities laws and associated rules and regulations, including assisting clients with routine examinations, internal investigations and, when necessary, representing them in litigation. Prior to joining Stradley Ronon, Jan served as supervisory assistant chief litigation counsel at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, leading some of the industry’s most complex and high-profile cases in the Enforcement Division.
SIFMA's C&L Annual Seminar serves as a meeting place for compliance and legal professionals in financial services to enhance their connections in the industry and discuss what to expect in the future for the markets. Stradley Ronon served as a sponsor for the event.
