PHILADELPHIA — Stradley Ronon welcomed a delegation of business leaders from Mumbai and Gujarat, India, to the firm’s Philadelphia office for a panel discussion on June 17. The event was part of the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce’s (IACC) 2024 Investment and Business Delegation to Pennsylvania and New York.
The panel, titled “Expanding Your Business to the United States,” featured partner Dean Krishna, co-chair of Stradley Ronon’s tax practice, alongside international business specialists from local educational and government institutions. The group discussed considerations applicable to Indian companies when expanding to the U.S., including legal and tax preparations, cultural and business differences that international companies frequently encounter in the U.S. and other best practices.
The IACC’s Investment and Business Delegation initiative aims to collaborate with U.S. companies and trade associations to encourage and strengthen bonds between India and the U.S., understand the competitive landscape in the UU.S., and learn strategies for U.S. growth and expansion.
The delegation’s visit to Philadelphia was in partnership with The Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia, the Pennsylvania Department of Community & Economic Development’s Office of International Business Development, and the Philadelphia Department of Commerce.
Dean concentrates his practice on domestic and international tax and business matters, including mergers and acquisitions, registered funds and commercial securities offerings, private fund agreements, investments and structuring, business restructurings, and general domestic and cross-border tax planning.
