Dean Krishna concentrates his practice on domestic and international tax and business matters. He advises on matters including mergers and acquisitions; registered funds and commercial securities offerings; private fund agreements, investments and structuring; business restructurings; and general domestic and cross-border tax planning. Tax planning is good business planning, and over the course of his career, Dean has been able to build on his background as a corporate lawyer to layer in practical, solution-oriented tax advice.
Dean has won numerous awards, including being honored as “Best of the Bar” in tax by the Philadelphia Business Journal, ranked in Chambers and Partners (an honor given to fewer than 2% of attorneys in the U.S.) and designated a “Power Player” in the industry by The Legal Intelligencer. Dean’s most meaningful accolades are provided by Stradley Ronon’s clients regarding his ability to drive solutions and save his clients significant amounts (when possible) through tax planning, with the CEO of a private equity firm noting that Dean is a “wonderful (and unique) tax attorney because he’s able to explain and discuss complex tax issues in a plain-English, understandable fashion.”
He received his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and his LL.M. in taxation from the New York University School of Law, where he was editor of the Tax Law Review. He earned his M.A. in Education from San Jose University and his B.A. in Environmental Studies from Dartmouth College. Prior to law school, Dean served as a Teach for America Corps Member and taught sixth grade in East Palo Alto, California.
