CHERRY HILL – Stradley Ronon partner Eric Hurwitz and counsel Adam Kaplan presented a virtual course for Lorman Education Services about credit card collections compliance obligations and related penalties that may result from violations.
The webinar, titled “Credit Card Collections: Best Practices,” discussed the litany of statutes, regulations and governmental oversight applicable to credit card collections, including the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, and the Telephone Consumer Protection Act. Eric and Adam outlined common pitfalls concerning collections-related legal obligations and their potential solutions.
Eric is the partner-in-charge of Stradley Ronon’s Cherry Hill, New Jersey office and focuses his litigation practice on defending financial institutions from claims arising out of nearly every type of consumer and commercial financial product. He has experience defending both single-plaintiff and class-action lawsuits brought against a wide variety of financial services institutions.
Adam focuses his practice on complex litigation, including defending financial services companies from consumer protection claims in state and federal courts. He also counsels clients on issues of regulatory compliance and advises on enforcement actions and investigations.
