Stradley Ronon Senior Counsel Bennett Picker Receives Judicial Reform Award from Pennsylvanians for Modern Courts

PHILADELPHIA –  Stradley Ronon senior counsel Bennett Picker has been named by Pennsylvanians for Modern Courts (PMC) as the recipient of the Judge Edmund B. Spaeth, Jr. Award. The award will be presented at a ceremony on November 18 at the Franklin Institute.

Ben was a co-founder of PMC and is an active advisory board member. He is a dedicated advocate of the legal nonprofit community, having advocated for judicial reforms not only through his leadership with a Committee of 70 task force on this topic, but also during his tenure as chancellor of the Philadelphia Bar Association. As chancellor, he also was the founder of Philadelphia VIP.

Ben serves as a board member of the International Institute for Conflict Prevent & Resolution, a former board and executive committee member of the American Arbitration Association and has served as a representative of the International Mediation Institute to the United Nations. He is the co-recipient of the International Institute for Conflict Prevention & Resolution (CPR Institute) 2023 Outstanding Book Award for his book, Commercial Mediation Practice Guide: A Practical Handbook for Lawyer and their Business Clients.

PMC was established to educate all Pennsylvanians about the court system and how to navigate it with confidence, provide resources to make that possible for all residents of the Commonwealth and advocate for judicial reforms that promote inclusion and access to justice.
