Catherine M. Ward (moderator) and
Sara P. Crovitz (panelist) presented at the New Jersey State Bar Association’s Environmental Law Forum on June 17. Ward and Crovitz presented the session, “Social Governance and Green Investing,” which covered ESG concepts and the status of regulations, ratings and impact on both public and private companies.
Ward is the co-chair of Stradley Ronon’s
environmental practice group. Her practice involves advising industrial clients, developers and municipalities on regulatory compliance and redevelopment projects, identifying funding opportunities and assisting with remediation strategies. Ward is immediate past chair of the Environmental Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association and serves as board Chair of the Wynnefield Overbrook Redevelopment Corporation, which is affiliated with Saint Joseph’s University. She was the 2019 recipient of the Touchstone Award from the Society of Women Environmental Professionals (Philadelphia chapter) for her contributions to the profession.
Crovitz provides counsel on all aspects of
investment company and investment adviser regulation. Before joining Stradley Ronon, Crovitz had more than 20 years of experience at the SEC. In her most recent position of Deputy Chief Counsel in the Division of Investment Management, Crovitz worked with a team of over 50 attorneys in issuing exemptive orders, no-action/interpretive letters, IM Guidance Updates and other written and oral guidance, including guidance related to MiFID II, clean shares and auditor independence. For many years, she also led the Division's international obligations, including IOSCO and FSB work streams.
