PHILADELPHIA – Stradley Ronon is pleased to announce six new fall associates have joined the firm across multiple offices. Rachel Charamella, Christian Lee, Allie Maccarone and Alexa Tzarnas join the firm’s investment management group. Zunara Ishtiaq joins the business department, and Terence Jones joins the litigation department.
Rachel Charamella, a member of the firm’s investment management group in Philadelphia, was a 2021 Stradley Ronon summer associate. Rachel graduated from Drexel University Thomas R. Kline School of Law, where she received a CALI Excellence for the Future Award for Best Student Performance in Advanced Legal Analysis & Bar Skills. While in law school, Rachel served as a judicial intern to the Hon. C. Darnell Jones, U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, and a certified legal intern for Philadelphia Legal Assistance, where she supported clients in abuse and custody hearings. Prior to law school, Rachel worked as the director of legal marketing for a law firm and as a financial analyst for a bank. Rachel received her B.A. in Political Science and Business Administration from the University of Pittsburgh.
A member of the firm’s business department, Zunara Ishtiaq was a 2021 Stradley Ronon summer associate. She was the recipient of the firm’s Diversity Fellowship and spent a portion of the summer working with a firm client, Aberdeen Standard Investments. Zunara is a graduate of Rutgers Law School, where she served as a Board Member for Rutgers Law’s Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging Subcommittee and worked with the law school’s Immigrant Justice Clinic to provide pro bono legal services. While in law school, Zunara interned with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and Corporate Counsel Women of Color and has professional experience as a law clerk and pre-litigation assistant. Zunara received her B.A. in Political Science from Rutgers University. Zunara is based in the firm’s Philadelphia office.
Based in the firm’s Philadelphia office, Terence Jones was a 2021 Stradley Ronon summer associate and will focus his practice on litigation. Terence graduated cum laude with a certificate in trial advocacy and litigation from Temple University Beasley School of Law in 2022. He received the Center for Forensic Economic Studies Jerome M. Staller Award, an annual award given to the graduates who have proven themselves in litigation areas to be the most promising litigators, as well as the Jerry Zaslow Memorial Award, given to graduates who demonstrated outstanding academic achievement as well as well-rounded activity within the law school community. During his time at law school, he participated on the NCTC Trial Champion Team and received the Kohn Prize Award for his transactional skills. During his summers in law school, Terence was a Philadelphia Diversity Law Group summer associate for a full-service law firm in Philadelphia. He participated in the Systemic Justice Clinic for the Sheller Center for Social Justice, where he co-authored a report providing best practices for public defense. Prior to law school, Terence worked as a care manager for individuals who struggled with opioid addiction at Public Health Management Corporation. Terence received his B.S. in the Interdisciplinary of Biology and Psychology with a minor in Forensic Studies from Loyola University Maryland.
A member of the firm’s investment management group, Christian Lee was a 2021 Stradley Ronon summer associate and is based in Philadelphia. Christian is a graduate of Temple University Beasley School of Law, where he served as note and comment editor of the Temple International and Comparative Law Journal. While in law school, Christian was a summer associate at a national law firm and served as a judicial law clerk to the Hon. Carol Sandra Moore Wells, U.S. District Court Eastern District of Pennsylvania. He also interned at the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and California Public Interest Research Group. Christian received his B.A. in History from the University of California Santa Barbara.
Allie Maccarone is a member of the firm’s investment management group and was a 2021 Stradley Ronon summer associate. Allie is a graduate of Rutgers Law School, where she served as staff editor of Rutgers Journal of Law and Public Policy. While in law school, Allie served as a judicial extern to the Hon. Kurt Kramer, New Jersey Superior Court and a judicial intern to the Hon. Joseph H. Rodriguez, U.S. District Court Eastern District of New Jersey. Allie was a clinic student for Interviewing and Counseling Child Support Clinic in Camden, where she supported clients in developing child support payment plans and addressing custody orders. Allie received her B.A. in English from the University of Richmond. Allie is based in the firm’s Philadelphia office.
Based in the firm’s Newark office, Alexa Tzarnas is a member of the firm’s investment management group. She is a graduate of Drexel University Thomas R. Kline School of Law, where she received a CALI Award for Excellent Achievement in Advanced Constitutional Law and First Amendment, was an associate editor for the Drexel Law Review, and co-founder of Chiefs in Intellectual Property Student Chapter. While in law school, Alexa was a law clerk at a Philadelphia-based personal injury law firm, Independence Blue Cross and a national law firm. After law school, Alexa clerked for the Hon. Steven J. Polansky, Presiding Judge of the Civil Division, Camden County Superior Court. Alexa received her B.A. in Criminal Justice from George Washington University, where she was a member of the varsity squash team. Alexa received her M.S. in Law, Anthropology and Society from the London School of Economics and Political Science. Alexa is barred in New Jersey.
