PHILADELPHIA – Stradley Ronon is pleased to announce that Partner Nicole Simon served as a moderator at the SIFMA and FIA Asset Management Derivatives Forum 2023, which took place in Dana Point, California, on Feb. 9. The panel, “CFTC Derivatives Initiatives – Enhancements to Align with Best Practices and Market Resiliency,” discussed current regulatory issues and long-standing recommendations from practitioners and agency working groups on how existing CFTC regulations could be improved to promote market resiliency while effectively managing risk.
Ms. Simon is the chair of the firm’s alternative funds practice group, a founding member of the firm’s derivatives and commodities practice group and an active member of the investment management group. She counsels a diverse set of clients in the asset management industry on the broad scope of traditional and novel regulatory issues and practical considerations relevant to their initial formation and continued operations. She advises investment advisers, registered investment companies, private funds, real estate investment trusts (REITs), business development companies (BDCs) and their boards of trustees/directors on the application and interpretation of the federal securities and commodities laws, often with respect to alternative strategies in the retail fund context and the use of derivatives.
