NEW YORK – Partner Jamie Gershkow participated in Crane Data’s Money Fund University – Master’s in Money Markets, a comprehensive course on money market mutual funds. During the program, hosted Dec. 18-19 in Jersey City, New Jersey, Jamie co-presented a discussion on “Money Fund Regulations: 2a-7 Basics & History.”
Jamie’s presentation detailed the background and basic tenets of Rule 2a-7, the principal rule governing money market funds under the Investment Company Act of 1940, and provided an update and overview of recent amendments to Rule 2a-7 adopted by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. The session was part of the event’s “Master's in Money Markets” curriculum, which seeks to provide participants with a higher-level understanding of money market funds.
Jamie focuses her practice on advising investment companies, independent trustees and investment advisers on regulatory and compliance matters and the applicability and interpretation of securities laws. She assists money market fund clients in addressing the many varied matters impacting money market fund management, operations and compliance, including with respect to recently adopted reforms to Rule 2a-7. Jamie also advises independent trustees of investment companies in corporate governance and regulatory matters.
