WASHINGTON, D.C. — Stradley Ronon partner Jan Folena participated on a panel, “Regulatory Approaches to Crypto, AI and Climate,” at the 2024 Asset Management Derivatives Forum on February 8 in Dana Point, California, sponsored by the firm.
Jan joined representatives from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission and Intercontinental Exchange, among others, to discuss answers to and issues surrounding the question, “What is the perceived need and appetite for robust regulatory oversight of crypto markets, cybersecurity and sustainability?”
The three-day conference, hosted by the Futures Industry Association (FIA) and the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association's Asset Management Group (SIFMA AMG), attracts asset managers, sell-side firms and market structure operators to gain insight into business, clearing, regulatory and operations issues in the industry.
Co-chair of Stradley Ronon’s securities litigation and enforcement practice, Jan advises and represents clients on a wide range of matters involving federal securities laws, commodities laws and associated rules and regulations. She previously served as supervisory assistant chief litigation counsel in the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s Enforcement Division and before that as assistant chief litigation counsel for the SEC’s Asset Management Unit.
