PHILADELPHIA — Stradley Ronon partners Sara Crovitz and Bruce Leto, vice chair and co-chair of the firm’s investment management practice, respectively, participated as presenters during the Investment Company Institute (ICI)’s 2024 Investment Management Conference in Palm Desert, California.
Sara joined a panel on March 18 titled “ESG Around the Globe: Running in Circles,” which explored the differing global, national and state approaches to environmental, social and governance (ESG) regulation, how asset managers are navigating these issues and how they may change in the future.
Bruce’s panel on March 19, titled “Modernizing the 1940 Act Regulatory Regime,” discussed ideas for the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and Congress regarding the Investment Company Act of 1940 reforms. Bruce, Sara and partner David Grim, vice chair of Stradley Ronon’s investment management practice, hold seats on ICI’s steering committee advising on the modernization of the ’40 Act, a two-year project representing one of the most significant ICI initiatives in recent years.
Sara provides counsel on all aspects of investment company and investment adviser regulation. Her sophisticated understanding of SEC regulation and compliance of investment companies and advisers is sought after in the asset management industry. Prior to joining Stradley Ronon, Sara was deputy chief counsel and associate director in the SEC’s Division of Investment Management.
Bruce advises investment companies, investment advisers, independent trustees and broker-dealers on securities and corporate law matters relating to pooled investment products, including registered and unregistered, open- and closed-end investment companies. He is a member of Stradley Ronon’s management committee and board of directors.
