WASHINGTON — Stradley Ronon partner Jan Folena, co-chair of the firm’s securities litigation and enforcement practice, participated on a panel at the Futures Industry Association’s (FIA) 2024 Law & Compliance (L&C) Division Conference on April 25 in National Harbor, Maryland.
Jan joined industry members to discuss “Buyside Hot Topics,” which focused on the regulatory, legal and operational issues that are top-of-mind for asset managers and investment funds, including artificial intelligence, digital asset exchange-traded funds, and enforcement developments involving the negligence standard as applied to asset managers. FIA’s three-day conference covered pressing legal and regulatory developments impacting the cleared derivatives industry.
Jan advises and represents clients on various matters involving federal securities laws, commodities laws and associated rules and regulations. She previously served as supervisory assistant chief litigation counsel in the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s Enforcement Division and, before that, as assistant chief litigation counsel for the SEC’s Asset Management Unit.
