WASHINGTON – Stradley Ronon partner Sara Crovitz, co-chair of the investment management department, joined the Investment Company Institute (ICI) and Columbia Law School for a panel about the modernization of the Investment Company Act of 1940 (the ’40 Act).
The roundtable discussion covered topics relating to the ICI’s recent comprehensive efforts to modernize the ‘40 Act. Sara focused her portion of the panel on fund board governance, including ways to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of board oversight on behalf of shareholders.
Sara, along with partners Bruce Leto and David Grim, holds seats on ICI’s steering committee, which advises on the modernization of the ‘40 Act, one of the most significant ICI initiatives in recent years.
Sara provides counsel on all aspects of investment company and investment adviser regulation. Her sophisticated understanding of U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) regulation and compliance of investment companies and advisers is sought after in the asset management industry. Prior to joining Stradley Ronon, Sara was deputy chief counsel and associate director in the SEC’s Division of Investment Management.
