PHILADELPHIA – Stradley Ronon Partner Catherine M. Ward presented at an environmental law webinar for the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Education on April 25. Ward discussed the emergence of Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) as a legal and health issue and how these chemicals are likely to impact residential communities as well as manufacturers, water purveyors and utility companies.
Ward is co-chair of Stradley Ronon’s environmental practice group and a member of the real estate practice group. Her practice involves advising municipalities and developers in connection with redevelopment projects, identifying funding opportunities and assisting with remediation strategies. Her focus is on simplifying complex issues and multi-disciplinary projects into workable components, and then creating the necessary framework to accomplish her clients’ goals. With experience as a chemist and environmental consultant, she brings a unique perspective to assist companies – who are navigating often conflicting legal scenarios – in identifying both solutions and opportunities. She serves as a board member of the New Jersey State Bar Association Environmental Committee, is president elect of the Women’s Energy Network of Greater Philadelphia and is board chair of the Wynnefield Overbrook Redevelopment Corporation which is affiliated with St. Joseph’s University.
