Gordon presented “Telephone Collections: Do’s and Don’ts,” a webinar offered by Lorman Educational Services. Hurwitz and Gordon shared insight and legal risks under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, and common law invasion of privacy. The webcast provided an overview of these claims, common violations, penalties and damages, the latest laws and rulings, and how to avoid claims from telephonic debt collection.
Hurwitz is the co-chair of Stradley Ronon’s financial services litigation group and focuses his litigation practice on defending financial institutions from claims arising out of nearly every type of consumer and commercial financial product. He has extensive experience defending single plaintiff and class action lawsuits against banks, mortgage lenders and servicers, student lenders, credit card companies, auto finance companies, debt collection companies and other financial services institutions.
Gordon is a seasoned commercial litigator with significant trial experience in state and federal courts. He maintains a diverse practice that cuts across various sectors, but he focuses on defending financial institutions against claims arising from consumer and commercial financial products. Gordon also has significant experience in construction and surety litigation, insurance coverage and defense litigation, toxic tort and products liability litigation and alternative dispute resolution.
