PHILADELPHIA – Stradley Ronon financial services litigation practice co-chair Eric M. Hurwitz and Counsel Adam M. Kaplan presented “Collection Ethics: Knowing Your Ethical Obligations When Collecting Consumer Debts” for Lorman Education Services, which is now available as an on-demand course.
The presentation discusses ethical rules often implicated when collecting a consumer debt, rules governing the collection of debts under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and Regulation F, as well as rules governing telephone communications with debtors under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCP).
Hurwitz focuses his litigation practice on defending financial institutions from claims arising out of consumer and commercial financial products and has extensive experience defending both single plaintiff and class action lawsuits against banks, mortgage lenders and servicers, student lenders, credit card companies, auto finance companies, debt collection companies and other financial services institutions.
Kaplan concentrates his practice on complex litigation with a focus on consumer lending and financial services and represents financial institutions in a variety of matters related to consumer and commercial financial products.
