WASHINGTON — Bolstering the firm’s 70-lawyer, nationally recognized investment management practice, Stradley Ronon announced today that it has welcomed Mark Attar and Jesse Kanach as partners in its Washington, D.C., office. Highly regarded in the industry, Mark and Jesse complement the firm’s strategic plan to grow in practice areas and regions that deepen existing capabilities and add value to the firm’s national client base.
“The additions of Mark and Jesse greatly enhance the firm’s depth in the broker-dealer and private investment funds spaces, respectively,” said David Grim, co-chair of the firm’s investment management practice and partner-in-charge of the Washington office. “Mark’s former service in the SEC’s Division of Trading and Markets, coupled with Jesse’s highly focused knowledge of onshore and offshore private funds and innovative SEC-regulated investment companies, will have significant benefits to our clients.”
Mark, a former partner at Davis Wright Tremaine, has more than two decades of experience advising clients in the financial services regulatory space, including broker-dealers, investment advisers, digital asset firms, trading platforms, institutional investors and credit rating agencies on all aspects of federal securities laws and market issues. While at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, Mark served as branch chief and senior special counsel in the Division of Trading and Markets and was responsible for administrating the agency’s broker-dealer financial responsibility rules.
Jesse, who joins from Perkins Coie, will serve as co-chair of Stradley Ronon’s private investment funds practice. He is widely recognized in the asset management community for his cutting-edge work with private fund formations and navigating investment advisers through complex SEC rules and regulations. Jesse brings more than 25 years of comprehensive advice on all aspects of the asset management industry, representing a broad range of clients from international and domestic investment advisers and private funds to regulated funds like business development companies, operating companies requiring Investment Company Act analysis and family offices.
